This 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo is one of 461 US-market examples produced for the model year and was specified from the factory in paint-to-sample Platinum Metallic over Cork leather. Chassis 0445 was sold new through Alan Johnson Porsche of San Diego, California, in September 1978 and is said to have remained registered in California through 2023, when it was acquired by the selling dealer and relocated to Texas. The car rides on Bilstein shocks along with staggered-width 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels and features a front lip spoiler and fog lamps as well as a tea-tray rear wing. Inside, front sport seats are accompanied by a Porsche-branded Blaupunkt stereo as well as air conditioning and an electric sunroof and windows. Power is supplied by a turbocharged 3.3-liter 930/63 flat-six that has been fitted with a Kokeln Racing intercooler, while shifting is through a four-speed manual transaxle linked with a limited-slip differential. The cabin features front sport seats upholstered in Cork leather along with a color-coordinated dash, center console, door panels, and rear bulkhead trim. Further amenities include a Porsche-branded Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo along with air conditioning and an electric sunroof and windows. The air conditioning compressor was rebuilt and the system was recharged in 2024, according to the selling dealer.

The turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter 930/63 flat-six was factory rated at 265 horsepower. The engine was overhauled and fitted with a Kokeln Racing intercooler in 2004. Work performed in 2022 by Mobile Works West of Grass Valley, California, involved an engine-out rebuild and valve job.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The car most recently passed a California emissions test in August 2023, however, the factory thermal reactors have been removed.
